Discover Benz Micro
Founded by original designer Ernst Benz in the 1980s, Benz Micro earned recognition throughout the world as one the top cartridge manufacturing companies. In 1994 Albert Lukaschek took over and after 20 years, Benz Micro announced their focus on the upper end Swiss hand-made phono cartridges.
Benz Micro’s current production team represents the ” best of the best ” for it’s state-of-the-art phono cartridge production.
MC GOLD & SILVER
Benz Micro offers music lovers a first step into their product line with their MC Gold and MC Silver phono cartridges. These cartridges will provide enjoyable listening for years to come as well as upgradability to the higher-end Benz Micro Swiss hand-made cartridges.
ACE
The award winning S class of hand-made Swiss phono cartridges incorporate the Benz MicroRidge stylus for the best performance/value ratio in phono cartridges, regardless of output level:
– Red (Low or SL)
– Clear (Medium or SM)
– Blue (High or SH)
GLIDER
The Glider S class of phono cartridges, introduced in 1993, features the Benz Micro Ridge stylus and is available in three outputs: L, M or H. Its open air design, medium compliance and 6.8-gram weight make it ideal on a very wide range of tonearms, one of the many reasons for its incredible success.
WOOD
The award winning Wood S class of hand-made Swiss phono cartridge is not only visually beautiful but also provides a wonderful price performance ratio.
REFERENCE S COPPER
The Reference S Copper is a moving coil stereo cartridge using the Micro Ridge stylus for use with high gain phono stages (>60dB) for input impedance of less than 300 ohms. Previous enhancements included a modified boron cantilever, improved pole pieces with a copper wound cross coil generator producing a more efficient magnetic circuit, improved linearity and damping.
RUBY ZL & ZH
Ruby S class cartridges feature a Zebra wood body, providing a balance of bass weight and pitch definition, resulting in a arm and natural soundstage. The Ruby ZL & ZH provide the low or high output levels.
The Ruby Zebra cartridges weigh only 10.6 grams, making them ideal for a wide range of tonearms, including today’s state-of-the-arm, and older models lacking the energy control, bearing designs, or counter-weight range. Benz Micro cartridge owners have the added advantage of their trade-up programs.
GULLWING SLR & SHR
The Gullwing is a hybrid of the LP S class, Ruby, and Glider phono cartridges with high and low levels of output.
At first glance, this S Class model resembles the Glider, but the Gullwing is the only Benz cartridge other then the LP S, with a frame machined from solid brass. The open air design, also based on the Glider, is almost twice the weight due to the much heavier brass material and larger Neodymium magnet.
EBONY TR, H, M & L
The Ebony MC Cartridges is a high-end cross-coil generator based cartridges with Ebony L, M, H & TR models.
Each cartridge uses the best materials, such as Ebony wood body, Micro Ridge stylus and the most advanced coil windings for their application, with its exotic aged Mozambique Ebony casing influencing the cartridge’s sonic signature resulting in a deep and rich bass to mid-bass response.
LP & LP-S
The LP & LP S incorporates a higher mass frame for improved coupling to tonearms, evolved ruby square plate generator housed in a special, limited edition, aged ebony body.
The LP S weighs in at 16.4 grams, and provides enhanced vibration and resonant characteristics, resulting in greater dynamic contrast, deeper bass and increased resolution from all records.
